Lacul Calțun is a glacial lake situated at 2 135 m.
The lake is a popular camping spot.

Cabana Piscul Negru, accessible by car on good asphalt all year long from the South.
Route details
The route follows the Blue Triangle Markings all the way up and down.
It starts with a steep climb through the forest up to around 1600m where we enter the mountain pine zone which is rocky.
The last part up to the lake is grass and rocks.
We go back the same way.
Trail Markings: the route is 100% on marked trails, there are no orientation problems.
Water Sources:
- The trail follows a river and there are multiple places where you can get water.
- The water from Calțun Lake is not safe to drink.
Surface
Most of the trail is dirt, grass and rock, sometimes loose and it can cause problems.
Wear good hiking shoes.

- You can continue the hike up to Negoiu Peak.
